Red Devils Carry on Homecoming 5K Tradition

A little nor’easter wasn’t going to stop a longstanding Avon Grove tradition.

Despite the weather forcing the cancellation of the Homecoming Parade, members of the Avon Grove Ice Hockey program still came out in full force for the annual Homecoming 5K, joining the Avon Grove community for one of the school year’s traditional Homecoming events.

And, as you can see, they didn’t exactly come dressed for a hockey game.

The Red Devils traded their jerseys and equipment for overalls, yellow shirts and Minion gear as they took part in the race and represented the hockey program alongside their fellow Avon Grove students.

Participation in events like the Homecoming 5K has become an important tradition for Avon Grove Ice Hockey. While the work on the ice is a major part of the program, being involved in the school and supporting the greater Avon Grove community is just as important.

The weather may have changed the Homecoming schedule, but it didn’t keep the Red Devils from showing up.
